The Sickle Cell Clinic began in 2015

KUSCO organization
began in 2021

This clinic started in March 2015 with just two patients and now its supporting 105 patients and growing fast. Later KUSCO organization started in June 2021 to be a supportive pillar to the clinic.

It was a matter of urgency to start the Sickle Cell clinic, because Health Center IV was receiving cases regularly, however, they were referring patients to the Main Hospital in Masaka, on the mainland. That was a big challenge, because it is costly in terms of transport, and the six (6) hour travel time.

The need to have our patients organized and be able to create an awareness campaign became serious and therefore led to the establishment of KUSCO organization as a supportive pillar.

We look forward to working with you in any capacity you may choose to support.

Musawo (Dr.) Joel Kibonwabake
